Suspect Arrested in Friday Night Pleasant Hill Shooting

On December 2 at about 8:14 pm, Pleasant Hill Police Dispatch began receiving multiple calls for service reporting gunshots heard in the area of Ellinwood Dr and Contra Costa Blvd in the City of Pleasant Hill.

Additional calls were received reporting a male had been shot near the Pizza My Way restaurant. Officers quickly arrived on scene and located a 36-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

The suspect was also quickly located and detained in close proximity. As officers stabilized the scene, it was determined there were no outstanding suspects. This was determined not to be a random incident and the victim and suspect knew each other. The victim was transported to the hospital where he is being treated.

There are no active threats to the community and no additional victim(s) in this case. The 54-year-old suspect was arrested an was booked into County Jail.
