Marsh Creek Road and Several Others Reopen After Storm Damages

On Friday, the Contra Costa County Public Works team announced several roads have now been reopened after crews had worked to clear mud, rocks and flood damages around the county.

  • Marsh Creek Road is now open to all traffic between Morgan Territory Road and Deer Valley Road. The roadway experienced several areas of heavy mud slides, along with rocks in the roadway and fallen trees.
  • Deer Valley Road (Antioch/Brentwood) has reopened to all traffic between Briones Valley Road and Marsh Creek Road.
  • Maritime Way (Antioch) is now reopened to traffic between Wilbur Avenue & the end of the road.
  • Highland Rd (San Ramon) has been cleared and is reopened to all traffic between Collier Canyon Rd & Carneal Rd.
  • Wildcat Canyon Road has reopened between Camino Pablo/San Pablo Dam Rd & South Park Drive
  • Arthur Road and Pacheco Boulevard open after flooding

Marsh Creek Road

Even with the roads being open, Public Works is encouraging drivers to use caution with several more storms coming in over the next week. The roads may also be forced to close again if too much rain falls causing similar issues as last week.

Since December 31, Contra Costa County Public Works has provided more than 40,000 sandbags across the county to residents, in an overall effort that resulted in 200k sandbags combined.

Since December 31, several roads had to be closed with crews working around the clock to fix sink holes, mud slides, rocks in roadways and flooding across Contra Costa County– original message.

Contra Costa County Public Works Department (CCCPWD) maintains over 660 miles of roads, 150 miles of streams, channels, and other drainage and over 150 County buildings throughout Contra Costa County. CCCPWD provides services such as Parks and Recreation, Sandbag Distribution and Flood Control throughout unincorporated areas of Contra Costa County.
