Brentwood Police Arrest Drive-by Shooting Suspect

BRENTWOOD, CA – On December 15, 2022, at around 9:15 p.m., Brentwood officers responded to the 100 block of Dunedin Drive on a reported shooting into an occupied home.

Officers quickly arrived on scene where they found several shell casings in a nearby intersection and a home occupied by several residents was struck by gunfire. With the help of Brentwood residents, officers identified a possible suspect vehicle, a silver four-door Infiniti G37 sedan.

The following day, Brentwood detectives located and recovered the suspect vehicle in Brentwood for further investigation. Ultimately, the suspected driver of the vehicle during the shooting was identified as, 19-year-old Jose PENA of Brentwood.

On January 10, 2023, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office filed one charge of 246 PC – Shooting into an Inhabited Dwelling. PENA remains in custody in lieu of $250,000 bail.

Detectives believe this same vehicle may have been involved in a separate shooting, due to what appears to be preexisting bullet holes in the vehicle.
