On Tuesday, January 10, Paradise Roller Rink in the City of Antioch posted photographs of the facility underwater after the recent storm caused major flooding on New Years Eve.
With a creek running through the County Fairgrounds property, it recent rain has caused it to overflow which hit the facility. The business has been forced to temporary close and refund gusts who reserved the rink.
The business did attempt to utilize 100’s of sandbags and spray foam, but water still poured in. It is anticipated the business could be shut down for several months while it replaces the wood flares and carpet and fixes other damaged areas.
Update: Paradise Skate posted to social media:
“If you had a reservation with us, we have canceled everything. We have issued refunds on everything. Please check with your banks. Many of them take their time processing refunds. It can take up to 10 working day for the banks to process the returns. That is WORKING days. They do not count weekends or holidays. Everything was process on Jan 3. Due to weekend days and a holiday, your bank may not post the refund until Jan 17th.“
