by CC News

On Tuesday, two suspects fleeing from the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office were taken into custody in the City of Pleasant Hill.

At around 11:50 am Tuesday, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs office was in pursuit of a suspect in the Martinez/Pacheco area that made their way into the City of Pleasant Hill.

While in pursuit, the subject stopped, exited the vehicle and ran from police. The passenger in the vehicle was taken into custody.  Police believe the suspect who fled was armed. He ran behind Target and entered a creek area. This allowed police from the Sheriffs Office, Pleasant Hill Police and Pittsburg Police to mobile and set up a perimeter.

Police described the suspect as a white male wearing all black clothing who entered the Grayson Creek Apartment area and was soaked from the canal.

By 12:42 pm, the suspect was in custody in a nearby parking garage after a police K9 helped locate the suspect.

No other information was released. It’s also unclear if a firearm was recovered.
