The later December and January “atmospheric river” storms left the 9,300-square-foot maple wood flood under water–most of the wood was warped and damaged. On March 9, Paradise Skate stated they experienced flooding for the 5th time in 2023.

A GoFundMe page was started to assist them which was seeking $225k, however, it raised a little over $10k.

On Tuesday, January 10, Paradise Roller Rink in the City of Antioch posted photographs of the facility underwater after the recent storm caused major flooding on New Years Eve. With a creek running through the County Fairgrounds property, it recent rain has caused it to overflow which hit the facility. The business was forced to temporary close and refund gusts who reserved the rink. The business did attempt to utilize 100’s of sandbags and spray foam, but water still poured in. It is anticipated the business could be shut down for several months while it replaces the wood flares and carpet and fixes other damaged areas.

Flooding is nothing that the skating rink hasn’t experienced in the past as its flooded twice times since opening in 1969 which occurred in both 2009 and 2018.
