The Pleasant Hill Police Department report that on May 8, officers responded to Pleasant Hill Elementary School, 2097 Oak Park Blvd., in response to a 911 call from an unknown male subject, who talked about going on campus and shooting students.

At the time of the call, Pleasant Hill Elementary had just released students for the day.

Officers responded and under precaution the school was placed on lockdown. Officers systematically searched the school and determined there was no active threat on campus. Officers worked with school personnel on the safest way to reunite students and parents.

It has been determined this call was a hoax and there was never an active threat on campus–police called this a hoax commonly called a “Swatting” incident.

Pleasant Hill Police say there have been an uptick across the country with these type of hoax calls and said all students were safely reunited with their parents. This investigation remains active at this time.
