The California Highway Patrol report that one person is dead in a three vehicle crash on SR-4 near the City of Martinez on May 18.
According to CHP, around 5:50pm, CHP Contra Costa was advised of a three vehicle crash on eastbound SR-4, over I-680. A grey Toyota Highlander collided into a silver Toyota Camry that was stopped for traffic ahead. This caused the Camry to be pushed forward into the concrete center divide and continue to collide with a Gray Mazda 3, which was also stopped for traffic.
Emergency personnel arrived on scene to render aid. The driver of the Camry was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver and passenger of the Highlander sustained suspected minor injuries. The driver of the Mazda 3 was not injured.
