Our preliminary investigation indicates a Dodge Ram, with two occupants, was traveling southbound on Vasco Road while a Toyota Tacoma, with one occupant, and a Chevrolet Express, with one occupant, was traveling northbound on Vasco Road. The Dodge and the Toyota collided head on, due to the Dodge crossing into the northbound lane. The Dodge began to overturn in the southbound lanes and the Chevrolet collided with the Dodge.

The driver of the Toyota was pronounced deceased on scene. The driver of the Dodge sustained major injuries, the passenger of the Dodge sustained minor injuries and the driver of the Chevrolet sustained minor injuries.

Why??? Just….why?! This has to be the most dangerous spot in all of East County. Mostly because of knuckleheaded drivers who throw caution to the winds and drive as if no one else is on the raod. Either that or they think they’re so entitled that reckless driving is no big deal. Well, guess what? Yet another senseless death due to a knucklehead.

You just hope it is the Knucklehead who died.

Why just why is right. How many more people are going to die from head on accidents on this road? How many have already died this exact same way on this road? They need to put a K-rail down the entire length of this stretch, just like they did on highway 17 through the hills there.

This is really unacceptable and the county stupervisors have the blood of Contra Costa citizens on their hands in their failure to act on this. It’s been a death trap for YEARS. There’s an easy way to fix this. It’s our representatives’ responsibility to work for their constituents to make this area more suitable and safe. Otherwise they are derelict in their duties. This means you, Burgis. I hope you read this. Too you public servants have your money tied up in other pet projects.

Get back to work, tax slaves. Nothing to see here.

Was alcohol a factor? Or just being a meathead Dodge truck owner? Now a killer. The road was closed for 5 hours. Why didn’t CHP shut off northbound traffic entering Vasco down in Livermore? CHP put everyone at risk, joining a backup with u-turners speed stupidly as well. No one in government gives a sh*t about getting it right anymore.

Formerle – your an idiot. Alcohol or Drugs were not a factor BUT it was a Medical Emergency. So keep trolling your dump truck.

hate ca –
drugs or alcohol was probably a major factor.
