The following is a sampling of the East Bay Regional Park District Police calls reported between July 25-31 which focuses on the higher priority call responses in the East Bay Regional Park District.

 

Calls For Service

Antioch Shoreline Fishing Pier

  • 7/26 – Park user reported a fisherman with 12 undersized fish. Taken as Beat Information per sergeant.

Anthony Chabot Big Bear Staging Area

  • 7/26 – Illegal Dumping: . Mattress and large trash bags dumped in front of the staging area. Information provided to staff. .

Big Break Regional Shoreline

  • 7/27 – Information regarding a vehicle left overnight given to officers.

Briones

  • 7/25 –  Occurred at Briones Old Briones Rd Staging on Briones. , in East Bay Parks. Park user reporting a possible disoriented male on the trail. Officer responded
  • 7/25 – Area resident reported vehicles entering the park. Sergeant responded
  • 7/27 – Directed patrol for trail permits and illegal bicycle use.
  • 7/28 – Park user reported a group fishing. Officers responded. . Disposition: Cited.
  • 7/30 – Horse rider reported seeing two bicyclist headed down the Alhambra Creek Trail. Officer responded. . Disposition: Unable to Locate.
  • 7/30 – Volunteer reported tree limbs down on the trail. Information forwarded to staff. .
  • 7/30 – Park user reported down tree on the trail. Message left for staff
  • 7/31 – EBMUD Ranger located three juveniles with no permits. Officer responded. Disposition: Cited.

Contra Costa Canal Trail

  • 7/28 – Trail user reported encampment on the trail. Officer responded and determined to be trash. Referred to staff for cleanup
  • 7/28 – Trail user reported being followed by a subject on the trail. Information passed on to patrol.
  • 7/30 – Directed patrol for fishing license and catch limit violations

Contra Loma

  • 7/29 – Officer conducted fish and game check. .
  • 7/29 – Secondhand from staff of hang glider possibly going down. Officer, Contra Costa County Fire, and CONAIR responded. Determined no emergency, hang glider left prior to arrival. . Disposition: Unable to Locate.
  • 7/29 – Park user reported small vegetation fire. Officer, staff, and CONFIRE responded. 1/4 acre fire extinguished.

Coyote Hills

  • 7/25 – Report from Federal Aviation Administration of green laser pointed at commercial airplane from shoreline area

Crown Park Street

  • 7/30 – Secondhand report from Alameda PD of an assault. Officers responded. Victim transported to Alameda Hospital.
  • 7/30 – Local area resident reported subjects entering the park after curfew. Officers responded
  • 7/31 – . Park staff reported vandalism to restrooms.

Cull Canyon

  • 7/29 – Lifeguards reported subjects on the beach drinking alcohol and smoking marijuana. Officers responded

Delta De Anza Trail

  • 7/25 – ROBBERY: Delta De Anza Trail/Bailey Rd. , in East Bay Parks. Secondhand report from John Muir Hospital of attempted robbery.

Don Castro

  • 7/29 – Officer located dog in vehicle with windows rolled up . Dispatch got word to vehicle owner who then responded back to the vehicle.

Hayward Shoreline

  • 7/28 – Park staff reported vehicle in lot with flat tires. Officers responded and determined vehicle reported stolen out of Antioch Police. Vehicle towed/stored by US Towing and three license plates booked at HQ.

Lafayette Reservoir Visitors Center

  • 7/27Officer conducted fish and game check
  • 7/29 – Officers conducted security patrol for EBMUD 100 year anniversary event.

Lake Chabot

  • 7/25 – Information regarding pig trapping provided to patrol
  • 7/25 – Staff reported found credit card. Officer responded.
  • 7/25 – Park user reported losing cell phone on 07/23. Pending victim callback
  • 7/26 – Officers flagged down for report of a head injury. Officers, EBRPD Fire, Alameda County Fire and ambulance responded. Patient refused transport
  • 7/27 – Area resident reported hearing at least one subject in the bushes to the rear of his residence. Officers responded. Subject transported to San Leandro Hospital and bicycle booked for safekeeping.
  • 7/28 – Officers conducted fish and game check.
  • 7/29 – Park user reported a child separated from his family. Officer responded. Child reunited with mother.
  • 7/30 – Park user located cell phone and turned it into Dispatch. Sergeant responded and returned it to owner.
  • 7/30 – Park user lost her cell phone while walking at the park. Officer took report
  • 7/31 – Information from staff regarding a District vehicle being left in the lot was passed on to patrol
  • 7/31 – Park staff reported a subject who appeared to be wandering around dazed and confused. Officers, Eagle 7, Alameda County Fire and ambulance responded. Subject located at residence adjacent to the park not in need of assistance
  • 7/31 – Park user reported their juvenile overdue at the park. Officers responded and located juvenile. Disposition: Adjusted.

Las Trampas Bollinger Canyon on Las Trampas

  • 7/25 – Secondhand from San Ramon Valley Fire of horse rider with leg injury after fall off horse. Officer, 5662, 5691, 5617, San Ramon Valley Fire, ambulance, and California Highway Patrol H30 responded. Patient transported via ambulance to John Muir Walnut Creek
  • 7/30 – Park user reported calf possibly in need of medical attention. Referred to grazer. .

Martinez Shoreline

  • 7/29 – in East Bay Parks. Area resident reported subject removed sign from restroom. Officers responded. .

North Watershed San Pablo Creek,

  • 7/25 – Officer conducted check for illegal swimmers and trespassing
  • 7/26 – Officer conducted check for illegal swimmers/trespassing.
  • 7/26 – Officer conducted check for illegal swimmers/trespassing
  • 7/26 – Officer conducted check for illegal swimmers/trespassing.
  • 7/28 – Officer conducted check for illegal swimmers/trespassing

Pinole Shores

  • 7/26 – AUTO BURGLARY – Occurred between 0800-0830hrs via passenger side window smash. No loss. Public Safety Technician took phone report.

Quarry Lakes

  • 7/29 – Secondhand report from staff of park user attacked by other subject. Subject left park prior to Officer arrival. Officers responded. . Disposition: Unable to Locate.
  • 7/29 – Secondhand from staff of park user theft of bicycle. Officers responded.

San Pablo Reservoir

  • 7/26 – Staff reported an illegally launched inflatable kayak. Officers responded. Subject cited and vehicle towed
  • 7/28 – Maintenance supervisor reported subject seen leaving park during curfew hours. Per Sergeant, taken as beat information.
  • 7/28 – Officer conducted fish and game check.
  • 7/29 – Concessionaire reported vehicles illegally parked in dirt area. Officer responded
  • 7/30 – Staff reported 7 subjects in the restricted preserve area. Officers and Eagle responded.
  • 7/30 – Park user reported found cell phone and credit card. Officer responded.
  • 7/31 – Directed patrol for parking violations. Disposition: Cited.

South Watershed

  • 7/25 – East Bay Mud. Directed patrol for trespassing and permit violations

Tilden

  • 7/26 – ROBBERY: . Father reported his son was robbed of his bicycle. Officers responded
  • 7/28 – Secondhand information from staff of two subjects under the influence of mushrooms and were requesting medical. Sergeant, officers, 5662, Moraga Orinda fire, Kensington Fire and Berkeley fire responded. Subject transported to Alta Bates via ambulance.
  • 7/28 – Lifeguards reported a group swimming in a restricted area. Officers responded.
  • 7/28 – Lifeguards reported a subject in the lake with a kayak, subject left prior to officer arrival. Officer responded.
  • 7/30 – Lifeguards reported group jumping off rocks. Officers responded.

Tilden Lake Anza on Tilden

  • 7/25 – Lifeguard staff reported subjects jumping off rocks. Officers responded

Temescal

  • 7/26 – Directed patrol for fishing license and catch limit violations for catfish
  • 7/26 – Lieutenant reported window smash. Sergeant responded.
  • 7/27 – Directed patrol for fishing license and catch limit violations for catfish.
  • 7/28 – Directed patrol for fishing license and catch limit violations for catfish

Wildcat Canyon Staging Area

  • 7/27 – Park staff reported vehicles parked illegally. Public Safety Technician responded

 

The East Bay Regional Park District is the largest regional park system in the nation, comprising 73 parks, 55 miles of shoreline, and over 1,300 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and environmental education. The Park District receives more than 25 million visits annually throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties in the San Francisco Bay Area.
