The Concord Police Department highlighted two recent actions its police department took that led to arrests within the City of Concord. In all three incident, police did not identify the suspect.
Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
Concord Police Department Officers rushed to Bank of America on Sunvalley Blvd. around 11:20 am on Friday following reports of a robbery in progress. Officers, along with support from the Pleasant Hill Police Department and Contra Costa Community College District Police, swiftly surrounded the bank as the suspect was inside. After the suspect exited the bank, the arrest team moved in and safely took him into custody.
Police did not identify the suspect.
Hidden Firearm Located
On Saturday, Concord Police said SET Officers were on patrol last weekend when they made a traffic stop on a vehicle downtown. Their investigation led to a vehicle search, and the discovery of a loaded firearm and extra magazines concealed in the dashboard. The driver, a convicted felon with past firearm-related arrests, was taken into custody. The driver was not identified.
Armed Robbery Suspect In-Custody with firearm recovered
On Thursday, the Concord Police Department responded to the Blackfield Drive area of Concord and later in the City of Vallejo.
This was in response to a US Postal Service mail carriers was robbed at gun point while delivering mail to our residents of Concord. Through witness statements, video surveillance, and other investigative leads, our Patrol Officers and Detectives of our Investigations Division identified the suspect vehicle and involved persons.
Police say on Thursday at about 10 PM, our Patrol officers located the suspect vehicle driving in Concord and initiated a high-risk felony stop on Blackfield Drive with the assistance of STARR 3, Air Support Unit – Contra Costa County, Office of the Sheriff. Several subjects were detained and taken into custody for various crimes.
Detectives also identified a related suspect house in the City of Vallejo and our Crisis Negotiations Team and SWAT Team served a search warrant early this morning, resulting in the recovery of evidence related to the armed robbery.
Police thanked residents in the community who called in suspicious activity in their neighborhood, and provided valuable information to our investigators.
