Concord Postal Carrier Robbed at Gunpoint

On Thursday a US mail carrier was robbed at gunpoint in the City of Concord where mail and personal property was taken.

US Postal Inspector Matthew Norfleet confirmed the robbery.

According to Norfleet, on Thursday, around 1:30 p.m., a mail carrier delivering mail at Mendocino Drive and Salem Street in Concord CA was robbed at gunpoint. There were multiple subjects driving a white SUV. They took mail and personal property from the carrier.

“This is the second robbery of the same type in Concord this week, and the seventh one of the month in the Bay Area,” said Norfleet.  “It should go without saying that attacks on postal workers like this are outrageous and unacceptable.”

The carrier was not physically injured.

Concord Police and postal inspectors responded and continue to investigate. We encourage anyone with information to contact Concord Police or postal inspectors, who can be reached 24 hours a day at 877-876-2455.

The Postal Service has reward money available up to $50,000 for information leading to arrest and conviction of these robbers or anyone who has robbed or assaulted any postal worker.
