On Sunday, the team of Pete Bizzini and Jake Banuelos took top prize at the Hook, Line & Sinker Bass Fishing Tournament out of Russo’s Marina with a total weight of 19.08 lbs–including a big fish of 6.85 lbs.
They were followed by the team of Gregory Hervey and Jonathan Hervey with 16.33 lbs who just beat out James Goehring and Rodney Blevins at 16.04 lbs who placed third on the day–they had the big fish with 7.66 lbs.

Hook Line & Sinker in Oakley to Close
Hook, Line & Sinker in the City of Oakley announced that they will be closing on January 15, 2024 and everything in the store must go.
The outdoor specialty equipment store features a wide variety of outdoor gear from firearms to fishing. Along with accessories, bait and tackle, knives, clothing and much more.
The released the statement Friday morning:
Dear Valued Customers,
It is with a heavy heart that we must announce that Hook, Line & Sinker LLC will be permanently closing in January 2024. Our decision to close has not been made lightly. Together, during the last 10 years, we have weathered some of the most difficult economic conditions our country has endured in quite some time. Skyrocketing operational costs as well as current and increasing state regulations have placed a stranglehold on small businesses like our own.
Our final day of operation will be on Monday, January 15th, 2024. Customers who still have a Gift Card can use the cards until January 15, 2024. Specific end dates for various store services will be announced in the coming days in-store and via social media.
We would like to thank all of our customers for their loyalty and support. Many of you have grown to become dear friends and family. We thank you for the opportunity to serve you these last 10 years. A tremendous thank you to our dedicated employees. You have helped to distinguish us from our competitors time and time again with your amazing service and compassion. Lastly, we would like to thank those in the community who have supported and encouraged our family in this business venture.
