Contra Costa County Fire Say Winter Storm Damaged 7 Structures

It was a busy Sunday around Contra Costa County as firefighters reported they had 60 weather related incidents with 7 structures damaged during the winter storm.

Around 5:00 pm, CONFIRE reported that due to high winds, within a 2-hour period they had 25 incidents for power lines/trees down with 3 smoke investigations and 3 trees into structures along with an elevator rescue.  In Concord, firefighters also responded to a commercial structure fire at the Keller House on Clayton Road. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service said the Bay Area is anticipated to receive widespread showers overnight with some stronger cells are producing gusty winds and brief heavy rain.

On Sunday, the winter storm caused high winds with wires down, poles down, trees down and many fences requiring repair across the county.

Anchor Marina Transfers from Bethel Island to Jersey Island

Due to strong winds causing choppy waters from the winter storm, nature took course and transported Anchor Marina from Bethel Island to Jersey Island. According to several readers, they shared pictures and video of the transport and the damaged marina.
