Martinez, CA – Today the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors appointed Warren Lai as the new Contra Costa County Public Works Department Director. Mr. Lai began his career with Public Works in 1998 as an Entry Level Engineer and has spent nearly 26 years serving residents in various capacities.
“Warren’s background in Civil Engineering and his vast knowledge of our Public Works Department will allow a seamless transition to continue our sustainability efforts to construct, maintain and improve infrastructure throughout Contra Costa County,” said District 5 Supervisor and Chair of the Board Federal D. Glover. “We are excited about the work ahead for our Public Works Department under Warren’s leadership and our continued thoughtful approach in serving residents through programs and services that are diverse, equitable, inclusive, and accessible.”
“It has been a privilege to serve the people of Contra Costa County throughout my career.” Mr. Lai said. “I look forward to leading the department and continuing to seek innovative ways to provide cost effective, safe, reliable and sustainable projects, programs and services to residents.”
