The Rio Vista Police Department said three teens have been arrested in connection with a carjacking and stolen vehicle out of Sacramento.
According to police, on Sunday, just before 7 PM, the city’s Flock Safety cameras notified officers on patrol of a carjacked/stolen Ford F-150 from Sacramento entering our city.
Officer Tramble located the F-150 at the Taco Bell & KFC parking lot. He called for Officer Vega to respond, observing the vehicle until it was safe to stop the stolen truck.
One occupant exited the vehicle and crossed Highway 12. The officers initiated a high-risk stop on the truck in Lira’s parking lot, taking into custody a 17-year-old Antioch male and a 13-year-old Sacramento male.
On his way home, Sergeant Pontecorvo turned around at the beginning of the incident and responded in time to apprehend a 16-year-old Sacramento male on the other side of Highway 12. He then contacted the Sacramento Police, who sent detectives to take custody of the trio.
Sacramento Police thanked the Solano County Sheriff’s Office and Sacramento Police Department for assistance while noting the incident is now a Sacramento Police case.
No other information was released.
