From Earth Day to Arbor Day, let’s work together to build a stronger, cleaner, more beautiful Antioch! Join us for our kick-off event happening Saturday, April 2020th to begin our service to the community. Choose to serve downtown near Waldie Plaza or at the Antioch Water Park before heading to the Antioch Community Center for a volunteer lunch. End the week with us on Arbor Day helping to reach our goal of planting over 100 trees throughout the city – more info


Concord Earth Day –  The City’s Public Works staff is facilitating several Earth Day cleanup events throughout Concord in partnership with community groups and volunteers who want to beautify our parks and open spaces. Want to get involved in a project in your neighborhood? Check out our Earth Day flyer to find a project near you. You don’t have to RSVP, but please sign our waiver form online! Please bring your own gardening gloves, and be sure to wear sunscreen and a hat, and bring some water! — See Flyer


El Cerrito Earth Day Celebration: Each year the City celebrates Earth Day with a morning of volunteerism and work parties. Join one of the many citywide work parties from 9 am to 12 noon, and a complimentary seedling giveaway by the El Cerrito Community Garden Network with the El Cerrito Garden Club at the City Corporation Yard (across from the El Cerrito Recycling + Environmental Resource Center) — Info Here


El Sobrante Earth Day Community Cleanup: Earth Day book displays, gardening, speakers, entertainment and other fun and educational activities! Gather at 9:30am at El Sobrante Library 4191 Appian Way — Info here.


Pittsburg Civic Pride Day – The City of Pittsburg and the Pittsburg Unified School District invite you to get involved and take pride in Pittsburg with a community litter removal effort! Bring family and friends! All ages welcome!

 


Martinez Earth Day Celebration – Join the City and other local organizations to celebrate Earth Day and the conservation legacy of John Muir at the John Muir Birthday-Earth Day event. Visit the City’s outreach booth to meet your Councilmembers, learn about sustainability programs, conservation incentives and rebates, plus a game for a chance to win sustainability-focused prizes — More info


Mt Diablo Resource Recovery Earth Day 2024: Planet vs. Plastics (Pittsburg) – hosts its 9th Annual Earth Day Celebration Event! The event will feature fun activities such as Bounce Houses, Touch-A-Truck, Face Painting, Cart Races, Art Activities, and a special tour of Big Blue 2.0, our new modernized Materials Recovery Facility.  The free and family-friendly event will be held at 1300 Loveridge Road in Pittsburg from 10 am to 1 pm. If you’re interested in touring Big Blue 2.0, our 90,000-square-foot recycling facility, please arrive around 10:30 am. The walking tour will start promptly at 11:00 am. During the tour, you’ll learn first-hand how we use state-of-the-art technology to maximize recycling and minimize landfilling. After the tour, you can enjoy fun activities like face painting or making art by repurposing materials more info


North Richmond Earth Day 2024 (Watershed Project): Volunteers will work on service projects at different sites in North Richmond, then come together for a fun community festival from 9am – Noon. — Info Here


Pinole Earth Walk: Join community in a walking pledge to protect the planet, with a three mile loop along the bay and creek starting and ending at Fernandez Park from 9am to noon —  Info here.

North Richmond Earth Day Celebration (Urban Tilth): Join the volunteer effort and Wildcat Creek Cleanup from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, meeting at the North Richmond Ballpark. Volunteers should bring closed-toed shoes, a water bottle, and clothes they don’t mind getting dirty.  Then from 10-noon or so there’s a celebration at Shields-Reid Park with lots of kid-friendly activities. —  Info here

Walnut Creek Earth Day –  Learn, engage & act to support the planet! Walnut Creek Earth Month 2024 brings together organizations that advocate for environmental, community, and personal health with a week of engaging events. When: April 2024: Free live and online events to raise awareness and promote local organizations and businesses that support the environment and create healthier communities.

  • Weekly Workshops – April 2024: Enhance your eco-knowledge with specialized sessions. From pollinator protection to waste reduction, each workshop is designed to empower you with actionable sustainability skills.
