The California Highway Patrol is investigating a vehicle versus pedestrian crash that killed one person in Pleasant Hill.
According to preliminary information, a vehicle struck a pedestrian at approximently 5:10 am Sunday after a pedestrian was in the center divide at SR-242 at Gregory Lane.
The person was pronounced deceased on scene. No other information was readily available.
By 7:18 am Sunday, all lanes were open.

Early this morning, June 9, 2024, at approximately 5:22am, Contra Costa CHP was advised of a vehicle vs. pedestrian crash on SR-242 southbound, south of Clayton Road. At the time of the crash, a burgundy Tesla Model 3, was traveling on SR-242 southbound, south of Clayton Road in the #1 lane when it struck a pedestrian in the roadway. The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene and the driver of the Tesla was not injured.
