The Antioch Police Department announced a Sunday incident that resulted in two people from Idaho being arrested on multiple charges.
Police say Officer Marcotte and K9 Perro assisted an officer on a traffic stop after a driver became nervous after being asked if anything illegal was in the vehicle. After detaining the suspects, K9 Perro helped locate a firearm, a loaded magazine, cash and several pounds of narcotics.
Antioch Police said the pair is both from Idaho, were arrested for being in possession of a firearm, several pounds of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine and $1,700 worth of cash.
Both suspects were booked in county jail on multiple felony charges for narcotics and firearm violations.
Perro is Antioch Police newest addition to the APD K-9 unit and is a 2-year-old Belgian Malinois from the Netherlands. He is trained for patrol duties as well as being cross-trained for firearms and article detection.
That traffic stop was his second day on patrol.

Good boy ! I am so surprised that people from Idaho were arrested. I thought they didn’t have any criminals up there, and it is an absolute Utopia of freedom and law abideness.
