Portion of Byron Highway Road Closed Due to Flooding

The Contra Costa County Public Works announced that Byron Highway is closed to all traffic between Byron Hot Springs and Herdlyn Road due to flooding.

According to CHP, around 3:00 am, the canal began overflowing and flooding the roadway. By 4:06 am, a SIGALERT was issued to block all lanes of traffic.

Public works will issue an update later Monday.

By 4:06 am, Byron Highway at Mountain House NB/SB lanes shut down.  It’s also being reproted that 2,408 are without power in the Town of Byron and Town of Discovery Bay.
