Antioch Police Take Shooting Suspect into Custody on Vasco Road

The Antioch Police Department say a suspect in connection with a December 12 shooting on Pepperteee Way in the City of Antioch is now in custody.

Police say on the day of the shooting, a male shot at a group of individuals. No one was hurt.

Upon further investigation, they were able to identify the responsible as 23-year-old, Malik Jefferson.

On February 16,, gang investigators and members from the Special Investigations Unit were able to locate Jefferson driving on Vasco Road in the City of Brentwood (Notevideo on our Instagram). An enforcement stop was conducted, and Jefferson was placed under arrest and transported to county jail.

A search warrant was also conducted at Jefferson’s residence in the City of Livermore.

Antioch Police said this case will be presented to the District Attorney’s office for consideration of multiple felony charges including firearms-related and probation violations.

The City of Antioch is also working to provide traffic calming on Sycamore Drive to slow drivers down while also working to improve safety in the area.
