The Oakley Police Department is currently looking for a male suspect who rammed a police vehicle and entered SR-160 going 100-mph the wrong way into traffic.

According to police, they responded to a U-Haul pickup truck that was stolen at the Carol Lane Apartments at approximately 6:12 am Thursday. By 6:17 officers were on scene and located the vehicle.

Upon seeing officers, the suspect hit one police vehicle before ramming another K9 police vehicle with both the officer and K9 inside.

The suspect exited the Carol Lane Apartment and headed west on Main Street as officers entered a high-speed vehicle pursuit. The suspect then entered SR-160 going the wrong way into traffic headed towards the Cit of Antioch which prompted Oakley Police to end the pursuit for safety reasons.

WOW! The Carol Lane Apartments again. I’m shocked! But hey, let’s keep building those low-income apartments.

I was in the lane closest to Chevron when the truck literally flew by my vehicle (kicking up gravel) coming at me the wrong way. If it wasn’t for seeing the dust in the distance and the flashing lights of undercover and marked cars, I would not have had the warning to pull toward the side more/stop. Unreal!
