Person Shot at Walnut and Marsh Creek in Brentwood

Brentwood Shooting

At approximently 8:00 pm Saturday, the Contra Costa County Sheriffs Office responded to a report of a shooting in the area of Marsh Creek Road and Walnut in unincorporated Brentwood.

It was reported that a person had a gunshot wound to the leg.

By 8:18 pm, the Sheriffs office reported they located a subject hiding in the bushes and moved the victim to allow Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and AMR to the scene.

By 8:22 pm, a person was shot at five times with a suspect outstanding. Police were looking for an assist via a drone from the Brentwood Police Department and a K9 unit was being dispatched from Concord Police.

By 8:28 pm, the sheriffs office was searching the area.

UPDATE

It was reported a person was hiding in the backyard of a home in the 1900 block of Walnut Blvd, the suspect was described as a black male wearing white shirt, navy blue jeans, negative weapons seen.

By 8:59 pm, deputies located a “water trail” headed towards Brentwood.

By 9:07 pm, Brentwood Police located the suspect at Walnut and Payne, they took him into custody at gunpoint with the assistance of a k9 unit.

Sheriffs Office Update

On Saturday, May 27, 2023, at about 7:48 PM, Delta Station deputy sheriffs were dispatched to a report of vehicle-to-vehicle shooting on State Route 4 and Byron Highway. During the investigation, a subject with a gun was found in the area of Marsh Creek Road and Walnut Boulevard. He was suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later treated and released from the hospital. The subject’s vehicle was later located along with a passenger in the car.

Both were detained and later booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on weapons charges. The second vehicle is outstanding.
