Here is the formal statement:

Statement Regarding Brentwood and Tice Valley Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinics

After careful evaluation, we have made the difficult decision to close our Outpatient Rehabilitation clinics in Tice Valley and Brentwood. The last day these clinics will be open is May 29, 2024.

Our Outpatient Rehabilitation clinics in Pleasant Hill and Concord will remain open and we are expanding our hours, including on weekends, to accommodate more patients in these locations. Services available in these locations include Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Hand Therapy, Neurological Therapy, Pelvic Health, Pediatrics (Pleasant Hill location), and Lymphedema (Concord location).

Like all health systems locally and nationally, we are continuing our work to ensure our financial health under very challenging circumstances, and it is important that we operate as efficiently as possible and be good stewards of our financial resources.

We appreciate the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our Rehabilitation Services employees to John Muir Health and the communities we serve. Any current Rehabilitation Services employees who do not continue with a new role at John Muir Health will receive a severance package and support consistent with our policies and values as a health system.

We are actively reaching out to referring physicians and our current patients to help them find an alternative rehabilitation provider in their area if they choose not to continue their care at John Muir Health.
