Delta Gallery Community Art Center Seeks Funding to Stay Open

Press Release

by CC News

The Delta Gallery Community Art Center is scheduled to close due to lack of funding. An emergency fundraiser has been set up to serve as a lifeline while the nonprofit Art Guild of the Delta explores sustainable, long-term funding through grants and other sources.

“I found I could say things with color and shapes that I couldn’t say any other way—things I had no words for.” – Georgia O’Keeffe

Fundraising efforts have been greatly diminished due to the pandemic and the loss of the Art, Wine & Jazz Festival, which in prior years have supported the annual costs of the Gallery (PG&E, Internet & Phone, Insurances, Website and Basic Maintenance).

We remain hugely grateful for the years of support we have received from The Streets of Brentwood, CLO Marketing & Fairbourne Properties.

Due to a lack of income, the Delta Gallery needs a lifeline to avoid closure this summer. New, sustainable grant and fundraising sources are currently being explored to keep the doors open at the Gallery for years to come. However, those sources will take time and this funding is needed to cover the short-term overhead to operate the Gallery in the meantime.

All funds donated to this campaign will go towards operating Delta Gallery Community Art Center. Delta Gallery is a DBA of the Art Guild of the Delta, Inc. a 501(c)(3) organization. Art Guild of the Delta, Inc. has been your local, non-profit arts organization for the past 10 years! Encouraging and inspiring creative influences, developing community art programs such as Banner Up!, raising funds for High School & Community College art scholarships and much, much more.

Over the course of these 10 years, we have given back more than $45,000 to our community in scholarships and support of other art organizations and nonprofits. We are very proud of our accomplishments and strive to continue our efforts to be an impactful arts organization.

For the past 9 years, Art Guild of the Delta has also had the opportunity to provide the community with a beautiful gallery space & community art center. Delta Gallery Community Art Center is a DBA of the Art Guild of the Delta. Working as a cooperative with local artists, all the work accomplished over these 9 years has been purely voluntary. It has been quite an undertaking and learning experience for the AGD management team, who oversees all operations of the Gallery. The Delta Gallery has become a very active community resource in arts awareness and arts education.

With a regular and full schedule of events, we bring thousands of unique visitors to the Gallery and The Streets of Brentwood each year. Some of the Gallery activities include:

  • Regional & Local Artist quarterly art shows.
  • Classroom art instruction from local artists.
  • Local Community College & High School art shows.
  • Brentwood Rotary Club Youth Poster Contest.
  • UnCorked!, a wine themed show that engages our local wineries.
  • Various non-profit shows, to include California Watercolor Association, John Marsh Historic Trust Foundation, Soroptimist of the Delta, P.E.O. International, Local Plein Air group shows.
  • Los Medanos Community College Occupational Work Experience Program providing student art interns each semester.

The gofundme page tells the story. We are in the process of applying for grants and actively seeking sponsors but need your financial support now. Thanks in advance for your tax deductible donation.
