Just after 7:00 pm Sunday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of shots fired on Auto Center Drive in the city of Antioch.
It was reported a person was shot in the leg at the Babe Ruth baseball fields on Auto Center Drive. At this location, Contra Costa County Fire has responded to two structure fires in the past few months at the vacant building. Homeless have also overtaken the area.
Sunday afternoon makes for the 4th Shooting in Antioch since Saturday and at the least the sixth shooting in East Contra Costa County.

Antioch, where are your leaders to address these shootings?
The shooter was probably upset about the sevice he was receiving at the Del Taco over there and he deicded to take out his frustration at the nearby little League field. It makes perfect sense to me.
You take cops off the street you replace them. Easy enough? Or do you like the anarchy being brought to the city.
Democrats universally are protecting criminals. A real mayor would not let his local businesses get ransacked. His streets covered in shell casings from pointless altercations by a bunch of people who shouldn’t even know what a gun is.
We could solve this problem in one night if this Mayor would resign and admit he is grossly incompetent. But he won’t and he will do something stupid and. Then the place will burn and he will stay silent and then do something stupid that doesn’t benefit any citizen of the city but only his garbage career.
This guy is a total tool and fraud. Oh how I can’t wait until the 2024 election we can bid farewell to these hacks and the second they cheat we have to expose them.
Until then for the citizens of Antioch look out for one another. Don’t expect anyone to come when you dial 9 1 1 because let me break it to you even with their generous 300k salaries it is highly doubtful anyone is getting off their ass to come help you.

Not a peep from the guy they call mayor about any of the violence happening. No acknowledgment, no statement, no plans to address it. His Facebook page is all about “flowers and candy”. While he sells that image, the city is on fire. VOTE like your life depends on it because it does. Don’t sit out the next election.

I think some of you ppl on here are bitter…You mad cause Mayor Thorpe got rid of the Good Ol Boys and doing his job…It dont bother you until it actually HAPPENS TO YOU OR YOUR LOVED ONE, then thats when you realize he trying to the right thing for Antioch
It’s not the Mayor’s job to give press conferences about race, race, race, Only racists make everything about race. Antioch is not a social experiment to promote hatred towards law enforcement.
Mismanagement of Antioch has been going on for decades. Catering to builders and allowing smaller homes on postage stamp sized lots which yield low parcel tax revenue. An what happened to a prudent reserve and not spending into a deficit red ink hole. Last economic downturn Antioch laid off sworn officers, had city been properly managed that never would have happened. Four bedroom houses in a years time have lost roughly $60,000 in value.
City needs leadership that will turn the city around.
Antioch presently is encumbered by woke ideology and immaturity.

Bitter? Mad? About what? How ridiculous! Most residents including myself are disappointed and frustrated because we have a so called mayor that is doing anything but leading. Not one word from him on the out of control crime that’s taking place, but he’s got time to march with protestors in downtown Martinez and hold press conferences when it suits his personal agenda. Rather than working with the citizens of Antioch and police to foster cooperation and community, he presents himself as king, essentially alienating everyone whose imput matters and getting zero results. Holding him accountable for his failure to lead and failure to act on what’s transpiring in this city is what we ALL should be doing as citizens.

“Trying to do the right thing” would be to, at the very least, denounce the out of control crime and violence in the city the mayor presides over! The only time this guy comes forward with any public statement, is to further cause strife. He’s not trying to do any right thing at all. The city burns and the “leaders” are MIA, as usual. The situation is critical. Where is the help?
Who is doing the majority of the crimes? Answer that honestly and you will see what the problems are.

You may be right. A key phrase Thorpe uses is “you people.” Or could be someone who drank too much of Thorpe’s koolaid.
The bar is set pretty low for kool aid drinkers which obviously has them falsely believing Thorpe is “doing his job.”
