Dublin Knives Owner Arrested for Firearms and 2000 Illegal Knives

On Friday, August 11, 2023, an investigation was initiated by Dublin Police Services into the distribution of illegal weapons from Dublin Knives, a business located on the 6500 block of Dublin Blvd.

Detectives executed a search warrant on the involved business and located more than 2000 illegal switchblade knives, approximately 40 rifles/handguns, body armor, four cane swords, 245 sets of brass knuckles and various other weapons.

The owner of the business, 51-year-old Deepak Chopra, was taken into custody for possession of illegal firearms, child endangerment and several additional charges.

A follow up search warrant was executed at Chopra’s residence in Livermore, which resulted in locating 19 complete rifles of various makes and calibers, 25 assault rifle-style lower receivers, over 50 high-capacity magazines, .30 caliber machine gun parts, and an assault rifle-style personally manufactured firearms (PMF) jig used to manufacture untraceable/unserialized firearms.

Weapons Seized Aug 11, 2023

On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Dublin Police discovered a storage unit belonging to Chopra located in Livermore. Detectives executed a search warrant at the storage facility and located in excess of 80 additional firearms to include 50 rifles, approximately 30 handguns and a .30 caliber fully automatic machine gun.

Hopefully the Feds are aware of this and will take the initiative in indicting him on Federal charges, in a Federal court, not an Alameda County court.
