Brentwood Shopping Cart Tweak Coming — this is good news because it no longer punishes small business when the change happens. This week, the Brentwood City Council who is looking at tweaking its shopping cart ordinance so it no longer fines local businesses after 3-days when someone steals a cart and leaves it somewhere in the city.  The folks at Grocery Outlet raised the issue and highlighted the ordinance in its current form punishes the victim of a crime, not the people committing the crime. For now, staff has been asked to cut back on fining businesses until changes are made to the ordinance–probably extending the timeline of when carts have to be picked up.

Aloha Ice – announced they raise $1,000 for hygiene kits for those in need in Maui.  They comes after they donated $2 per shave ice purchase last week. (6271 Lone Tree Way, Suite K in Brentwood)

Animal Adoption

Contra Costa Animal Services – Persy was adopted and returned 5 times before finding his perfect fit, and we couldn’t be happier for him!! When we received this adoption update it brought tears to our eyes. Have a happy life, Persy, we love you!

“Thank you so much for helping us adopt the sweetest most calm boy ever! After meeting Persy on a Wednesday we were planning to come back Saturday with our puppy Riley to do a meet and see if they interacted well. Unfortunately to our dismay he was adopted out on Friday night. Our son cried for days saying he wanted Persy and asking when they would bring him back so we could adopt him. We told him don’t say that bud, he deserves a forever home, we will find another dog. The next Saturday we were planning to come down with our puppy again to meet some other dogs and to our surprise as I refreshed the webpage he was back! I immediately called my husband and said head there now with Riley. The meeting went great and we brought our boy home. He is the perfect match to complete our family
