The student was placed under arrest. No update has been provided on this incident.

On May 3, the Contra Costa County District Attorney’s Office charged a Martinez man for having a firearm in a school zone. During the April 26 incident, Martinez Police located Michael Joseph Childressfrey in a parked vehicle at John Swett Elementary School.  He was cooperative, and when asked, Childressfrey said he was in possession of a firearm. Law enforcement authorities placed Childressfrey under arrest for gun possession in a school zone and carrying a loaded concealed firearm.
