On November 10, 2023, detectives from the Walnut Creek Police Department Investigations Bureau arrested a suspect in Fairfield in connection with two recent robberies.
The first robbery occurred on November 3, 2023 in the Burger King parking lot on the 1700 block of N. Broadway. The second robbery occurred on November 8, 2023 at the Autopia Carwash on the 2100 block of N. Main Street.
During the investigation, detectives and members of the Central County SWAT Team executed a search and arrest warrant in Fairfield. Detectives ultimately recovered an AR-15 assault style rifle and arrested Malcolm Hale for three weapons violations and two robbery charges.
Mr. Hale was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility for the following charges with a bail of $600,000:
- Two counts of PC 211 – Robbery
- Two counts for PC 182(A)(1) – Conspiracy to Commit a Crime
- PC 30305 (A) – Illegal Possession of an Assault Weapon
- PC 30305 (A)(1) – Prohibited from owning Ammunition
