The Pleasant Hill Police Department announced the arrest of a Brentwood man in connection with using a BB gun to shoot out the windows of Ace Hardware in Pleasant Hill.

On 12/21/23 and 1/3/24 our officers discovered the front door glass of Ace Hardware shattered, causing thousands of dollars of damage to the business. On both occasions, further examination showed that it was due to a BB gun being shot at the business.

After an investigation, police identified and arrested Joseph Gardemeyer, age 40 of Brentwood on 1/3/24, who was apparently upset about Ace’s return policy.

Gardemeyer was booked into county jail on felony vandalism charges.

No other information was released.

The reason Ace Hardware would not take the returns is because they were things that the suspect had stolen from Ace. When is enough enough? Lock up this loser drug addict!
