Oakland Man Arrested in Connection With Pinole Armed Robberies

The Pinole Police Department announced the arrest of an Oakland man in connection with two armed robberies on February 27.

According to police, on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, the Pinole Police Department Dispatch Center received two separate reports of armed robberies at gas stations along Pinole Valley Road. These incidents occurred at 8:39 PM and 8:41 PM, respectively. Witnesses described a black adult male entering the gas stations, armed with a firearm, demanding money, and fleeing in a green SUV. Fortunately, no physical injuries were reported by any victims or witnesses.

During their investigation, Officers were able to locate a traffic camera image of the suspect vehicle from earlier in the evening with license plates attached. This information, along with information related to the robbery, was disseminated to Bay Area law enforcement agencies.

On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, the Daly City Police Department contacted the Pinole Police Department who provided confirming information on the suspect and reported the suspect had been conducting robberies in their jurisdiction.

On Wednesday evening, the Daly City Police Department arrested Shamari Raheem, a 35-year-old male of Oakland, and booked him into the San Mateo detention facility for robbery.

It was later learned that Raheem had been conducting similar robberies in several Bay Area cities. Due to the diligent work of the Pinole Police Department officers, the Daly City Police officers, and the allied agencies, Raheem was safely arrested and is facing several counts of robbery.
