Gas Prices

California gas prices continue to rise as the average gallon of gasoline in Contra Costa County stands at $5.60 per gallon Friday.

According to AAA, the current average cost of a gallon of gasoline in California stands at $5.43 per gallon. A week ago, it was $5.27 and a month ago $4.87. A year ago, today it was at $4.88.

The national average is $3.634 per gallon.

On April 10, Assemblyman James Gallagher sounded the alarm that fueld prices could increase another .48 cent due to the Air Resources Board creating a Low Carbon Fuel Plan–as part of the “climate plan”.

AAA said this week that international events are also impacting gas prices across the world.

Vote dems out April 12, 2024 - 10:41 am

Corrupt Gavin and stupid Joe cant get you to buy electric garbage unless to keep gas prices high. Don’t worry, they will drop closer to the election. They are busy buying votes from libs that took college loans.

California has primarily its own state government to blame for high gas prices. While Newsom et. al posture about “gas company price gouging,” they can find the truth by looking in a mirror.

What’s that CA gas tax up to now?

What’s the volume of the strategic petroleum reserve, currently? Oh yeah, we drained that down the last time this administration needed to lower gas prices nationally; and then Chinese firms had the winning bid on a bunch of it!

Sure am glad Newsom signed that “Gas Price Gouging” law in 2023 to hold “Big Oil” accountable for record high California gas prices…. not. But, here we are a year later, and our prices are $2.00 a gallon more than the national average, and almost $1.00 a gallon more than when the bill was signed into law in 2023.

$6.00 a gallon here we come, and we’re not even close to the higher priced “summer driving” months.

I don’t expect Sacramento will do anything about it, in fact they are probably dancing in the isles, because these prices are likely part of their plans to shove EV’s down our throats, without having the needed electrical infrastructure to support it. And then there are the ever present PG&E electricity rate increases… yep, they have us coming and going.
