17-Year-Old in Custody After Attempting to Evade Oakley Police

At 9:32PM Oakley police officers located a reported stolen vehicle, out of Oakland, at East Cypress and Main. Our officer tried to pull the vehicle over but the driver refused to obey the law and lead the officers on a pursuit eastbound on E. Cypress Road. The driver continued evading officers as he continued towards Sandmound Road.

The suspect was identified as a 17 year old male, and he was determined to be the passenger of the stolen vehicle.  A CHP air unit and a Concord Police Department canine team assisted us in trying to locate the driver, but to no avail.

Oakley Police said the 17-year-old suspect was found to have a criminal history and a no bail warrant for escape out of Alameda County. The 17 year old male was booked into Juvenile Hall. — Full Story
