Hercules Police Catch Carjacking Suspect Who Assaulted Concord Officer

The Hercules Police Department reports that on  February 21, 2023, at 10:30 am, an Officer saw a 2014 GMC Sierra truck with visible damage driving at a high rate of speed northbound on Willow Ave near Canterbury St.

The Officer believed the truck was just involved in a hit and run vehicle collision and followed the vehicle. Other Officers responded and learned the truck was just used in an Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Vehicle) on a Concord Peace Officers in Martinez.

The driver of the truck, a 28-year-old male subject from Martinez was also considered armed and dangerous and wanted for a recent Carjacking with a firearm.

The Officer attempted a traffic stop and the driver of the truck failed to yield.

A vehicle pursuit was initiated and continued into the City of Vallejo where the driver of the Sierra exited onto Columbus Parkway in Vallejo and finally stopped at the Mazda car dealership on Columbus Parkway.

A high-risk traffic stop was conducted, and the driver and female passenger were detained. The driver was confirmed to have an outstanding Felony Ramey Warrant for carjacking and on parole.

Concord Police Department Detectives arrived and took custody of the driver and the truck. This was a combined effort by multiple agencies.
