The California Highway Patrol says its investigating a fatal vehicle crash that occurred overnight on SR-4 near Hercules.
On Sunday (4/14) at approximately 11:54pm, CHP Contra Costa responded to a two vehicle crash on westbound SR-4, east of I-80. A grey Jeep Wrangler, with one occupant, and a silver Buick Regal, with one occupant, were traveling westbound on SR-4 when the vehicles collided.
The driver of the Buick sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Jeep was not injured.
The preliminary investigation indicates the driver of the Buick was not wearing their seatbelt at the time of the crash.
