Neighbor Dispute Prompts Tuesday Afternoon Shooting in Antioch

On Tuesday, the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of multiple gunshots on Buckeye Court in the City of Antioch.

Police responded to multiple shots fired around 2:30 pm after what was believed to be a neighbor dispute that led to a male exiting a home with a firearm and begin firing multiple gunshots that struck at least two homes, vehicles and allegedly killed one cat.

The male fled to only return a short time later where police took the male into custody and its believed they recovered a firearm. A search of a vehicle prompted several boxes of ammunition, and another weapon–what appeared to be a club of some sort.

No injuries were reported, however, one vehicle was completely shot out and another home with kids was hit by gunfire. The Antioch Police Department has not yet released any information on the suspect and what caused the male to begin shooting or if this was related to another incident in Contra Costa County. They also did not say how much shots were fired.

This is now the 8th known shooting in the City of Antioch since Thursday, including a fatal shooting Monday night outside of a 7-Eleven on Hillcrest Avenue.

Why not change name to Dodge City? Don't be surprised when home valuations drop by 1/3 and how will city meet their budget?
