Dear Community Members, Students and Staff Members:

At the start of the 2024-25 school year, the Brentwood School District plans to open a brand new elementary school. This school will be located south of Lone Tree Way and east of Smith Road. We believe that the community will be very proud of this new school facility and we are grateful to all of you who have supported our efforts to fund this needed campus.

We need your help to find a perfect name for our thirteenth school. We believe it is essential for each of our schools to have their own identity and pride. We encourage you to participate in this process by submitting names for us to consider.

Recommendations must be submitted in writing no later than June 15th, 2023. When considering possible names, please be aware of the Board of Education’s specific requirements. The following verbiage is taken directly from approved board policy.

Requirements of the Naming of Facilities:

  • Individuals, living or deceased, who have made outstanding contributions to the school district or community
  • Individuals, living or deceased, who have made contributions of state, national or worldwide
    significance
  • The geographic or historical significance associated with the area in which the school or building is located

Please limit any comments regarding your recommendation to 100 words or less. Your letter may be emailed to Nicole Kleven, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent, at [email protected] or mailed to Nicole’s attention at the BUSD District Office, 255 Guthrie Lane, Brentwood, CA 94513.

The board will consider these recommendations and place this matter on a future board agenda for action. Thank you very much for your participation.

Sincerely,
Stephanie Williams-Rogers
