Contra Costa County has plenty to enjoy this upcoming 4th of July and can attend many fireworks shows—even drone shows. Here is a list of 4th of July themed events across Contra Costa County.

*NOTE – Richmond is hosting their event on July 3, 2023.


Antioch + Fireworks

Join the City of Antioch for its 4th of July Celebration which includes a parade and fireworks.

Join the City of Antioch in celebrating Independence Day in our historic Rivertown. Set up along W 2nd St. and W 3rd St. before 4:00pm to watch our annual 4th of July Parade pass by. Visit Waldie Plaza to experience live entertainment and enjoy local food vendors and trucks. July 4 in Brentwood

Brentwood + Drone Show

Join the City of Brentwood and the Downtown Brentwood Coalition for a day celebrating the 4th of July.

  • 9:30 am: Parade: Parade begins at 9:30 am with a children’s parade with the main parade to follow which includes local school groups, performances, floats, local businesses and more. The parade will begin at the corner of First and Birch and end at City Park.
  • 12:00 pm – Aquatic Complex: Bring the whole family to the pool to cool off during recreation swim from 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Enjoy the pols, waterslides and diving boards. Weekend/Holiday rate of $9 per person. Children under 1 are free.
  • 4:00 pm – Carnique: Celebrate Brentwood’s 75th Anniversary at the return of the Carnique! A resident-favorite for 35-years. Join us for food, carnival games, contests, swimming, live performances and good old fashion fun. In the spirit of the original event, proceeds from carnival games and food vendors will benefit local non-profits.
  • 7:00 pm – Concerts in the Park: Grab your spot in City Park and enjoy the 4th of July/Carnique edition of our Concerts in the Park Series featuring RagDolls—the ultimate all-female Aerosmith Tribute.
  •  9:05 pm – Light up the Night Drone Show: End the celebration by watching the Light Up the Night 4th of July Drone Sky Show presented by the Downtown Brentwood Coalition. This 12-minute animated show will launch from Liberty High School and feature some very special Brentwood themes and classic patriotic elements. — help donate to the show

Clayton Parade

Join the Town of Clayton for an Independence Day Parade.  At 7:00 am, there will be a pancake breakfast by CV Sunrise Rotary at Endeavor Hall ($10)… then at 10:00 am, annual 4th of July Parade and kids parade on Main Street. For more info, visit www.claytonca.gov


Concord + Fireworks

You are invited to Celebrate Concord…Family, Community and Business at it’s  32nd Annual Independence Day Parade and other events built around the 4th of July.

Events at Todos Santos Plaza

  • 8:00 am : Stars & Stripes Kids Fun Run
  • 8:15 am : Stars & Stripes 5k Run & Walk
  • 10:00 am : Independence Day Parade

Events at Mt. Diablo High School

  • 4:00 PM : Festival Gates Open
  • 9:00 PM : Fireworks over Concord

Danville Parade

The Kiwanis-Danville Parade will take place on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023 from 9am-noon in downtown Danville, California.

This year’s parade theme is Celebrating our Educators and our Grand Marshal is Chavonta Edington, Contra Costa County Teacher of the Year.

The Kiwanis Club of San Ramon Valley has organized and conducted the annual Kiwanis 4th of July Parade in partnership with the Town of Danville since 1975. The parade attracts 30,000-40,000 spectators each year and is a wonderful opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate America’s birth. More info: Click Here


El Cerrito

Join the City of El Cerrito from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at Cerrito Vista Park for a July 4 Festival. Hercules Fireworks

Join Hercules for a free Fireworks Celebration this July 4th, at the Bayfront in Hercules. The show will start once it’s dark.


Martinez + Fireworks

The City of Martinez is pleased to announce that the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Show is returning to Martinez. The City is also welcoming back the annual Fourth of July Parade organized by Downtown Martinez and Company and sponsored by the Martinez Refining Company.

  • Flag Raising Ceremony: 9 AM at the Veteran’s Memorial Building
  • Fourth of July Parade: 10 AM on Main Street
  • Martinez Fireworks Show: 9 PM at the Martinez Marina

Moraga + Fireworks

Join the Town of Moraga for a variety of July 4 events which include a dog parade, community booths, jumpies, food, wine and family friendly activities and fireworks

Pittsburg + Fireworks

Join the City of Pittsburg as they host Fourth of July with a fireworks show over the delta in downtown Pittsburg at the marina. The show will begin at approximately 9:00 pm.


Pleasant Hill + Fireworks

Join the City of Pleasant Hill for a 4th of July Celebration with a 5k run, parade, park event and fireworks.

  • 7:45 am – 5k Run
  • 9:30 am – Downtown Parade
  • 10:30 am – Pleasant Hill Park Event (until 1:30 pm)
  • 8:45 pm – Fireworks

Richmond (July 3) + Fireworks

Join us for the annual 3rd of July Fireworks show at the beautiful Richmond Marina Bay Park! This year’s event will take place on Monday, July 3, 2023, from 5 pm to 10 pm. The fireworks display will begin at 9:15 pm, so be sure to arrive early to secure your spot. Enjoy an evening of live music, delicious food, and fun activities for the whole family. We’ll have a variety of food trucks and vendors offering tasty treats, so come hungry! Don’t forget to bring your lawn chairs and blankets to relax and enjoy the show. This is a great opportunity to spend quality time with your loved ones while watching spectacular fireworks display over the beautiful bay. Admission to the event is free, and parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage you to carpool or use public transportation to help reduce traffic and parking congestion.

San Ramon

Join  San Ramon as they host a 5k run/walk and later in the day a concert event.

  • 7:30 am:  Run San Ramon – 5K/10K and Fastest Mile:  The 2023 Run San Ramon is celebrating its 38th year!  Get a healthy start to your 4th of July with this Independence Day Classic.  Enjoy the paved and looped 5K/10K course through San Ramon. The Fastest Mile is an out and back. All participants will receive a short sleeve commemorative shirt, bib, and participation medal.  The Run San Ramon is a chip timed race. — more details.
  • 5:00 – 8:00pm:  The San Ramon 4th of July Celebration  Concert will feature The Boys of Summer and a celebration of the City of San  Ramon’s 40th Anniversary. San Ramon Central Park Amphitheater (12501 Alcosta Blvd): The San  Ramon Arts Foundation will have food, wine, beer, soda, and water available for purchase. Shade structures, tents, and umbrellas will only be permitted at the top of the ridge/hill to ensure lines of site remain open. — more info

San Pablo + Drone Show

The City of San Pablo is thrilled to be hosting a 4th of July Multi-Cultural Event on Tuesday, July 4th from 5-9PM. Please join us live music, food trucks games, live entertainment and a lighted drone show! This event is FREE to join and will be held at the San Pablo Community Center (2450 Road 20) — more info


Walnut Creek

Join the Walnut Creek Concert Band for a FREE concert at Civic Park in downtown Walnut Creek celebrating 4th of July. Concert begins at 6pm at the gazebo.


Outside Contra Costa County

Benicia Fireworks

No daytime events, but the City of Benicia and First Street Downtown Benicia invite you to a fireworks show at approximately 9:30 pm. — more info

Dublin –  Safe and Sane Fireworks Usage

The use of Safe and Sane Fireworks is allowed at single-family residences in Dublin, as well as at four local parks (Shannon Park, Dublin Sports Grounds, Alamo Creek Park, and Emerald Glen Park) on July 4, 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.  No fireworks of any type (including Safe and Sane) are ever permitted at Dublin multi-housing units or at any undesignated Dublin park, other City facility, business, or school.   Safe and Sane Fireworks can be purchased from any one of the approved non-profit organizations in Dublin.  — more info

Livermore – Fireworks

The “Salute to the 4th of July” Community Fireworks Show will take place at 3200 Robertson Park Road on Tuesday, July 4, 2023. Gates will open at 4 p.m. and close at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. and last 20 minutes. Fireworks will be launched from the softball fields. Gates will reopen after the show has ended. – more event info

Suisun City + Fireworks

The Suisun City 4th of July Celebration is Tuesday, July 4, 2023 starting at 11:00am at the Suisun City Waterfront. This year’s festivities will include food and retail vendors, amusement rides, community acts, live music, and a fireworks show. . The fireworks show will begin at approximately 9:15pm — more info
