Pittsburg Police Seek Homicide Suspect

The Pittsburg Police Department announced they have identified a homicide suspect and are currently searching for him. He was identified as James Maurice Ector, 41 of Pittsburg.

On November 7, 2023 Officers of the Pittsburg Police Department were summoned to the 900 block of Carpino Ave. for a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and sadly did not survive his injuries. Detectives were called in and have been working continuously to identify the responsible.

Today, the Pittsburg Police Department would like to inform the public that Detectives have identified the suspect in this homicide investigation as 41-year-old, James Maurice Ector, of Pittsburg. Ector’s whereabouts are unknown at this time, however our officers and detectives will continue their efforts in locating Ector and bring justice to the victim and his family.

Do not approach Ector, if seen, as he is considered armed and dangerous, and the firearm used in this homicide is still outstanding. The Pittsburg Police Department urges anyone who happens to see Ector to call 9-1-1 immediately.

Pittsburg Police Investigating Homicide on Carpino Ave

On November 7, 2023 at 6:25 pm Pittsburg Police Department officers were summoned to the 900 block of Carpino Ave. for a report of a man who had been shot inside a residence.

There, officers located a 42-year-old resident suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Officers immediately rendered medical aid to the victim until paramedics arrived. Unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.

Detectives were called in and have been actively following several leads. Based on the information received from witnesses it is believed the victim and suspect were known to each other and that this was an isolated incident. Due to this being a very active investigation, the identity of the victim is not being released at this time. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
