At around 2:00 pm Friday, reports of a wrong-way driver were coming in on Highway 4 at the SR-160 connector which resulted in a head-on crash about 10-minutes later on the City of Antioch and City of Oakley border.
The call came in as a head-on crash with a white SUV versus a sedan which had three children in the vehicle. A medical helicopter was requested as a precaution along with a person laying in the roadway.
As of 2:28 pm, the medical helicopter was cancelled along with additional resources as Contra Costa County Fire Protection District crews stated the accident was spread across the freeway, but they had enough resources on scene.
Oakley Police Department, the Contra Costa County Sheriff and CHP all responded, along with AMR.
