Early Saturday morning, the California Highway Patrol arrested five people in Bay Point after a CHP police chase of the suspects from San Francisco. The chase ended when the vehicle overturned and crashed around 12:30 am.

According to CHP, CHP helicopter H30 was requested by San Francisco CHP units to assist in pursuing a vehicle wanted for reckless driving.

The crew of H30 arrived overhead as the vehicle crossed the Oakland Bay Bridge as speeds in excess of 120 mph. The suspect vehicle lead officers on a 45 minute pursuit through 3 counties.

With H30 was overhead, ground units were able to back off to a safe distance and setup spike strips.

After hitting the spike strips, the vehicle lost multiple tires and the driver eventually lost control and crashed. 5 occupants in the vehicle were subsequently taken into custody.

More people who think life is a game and the rules don’t apply to them. Thank God no law enforcement or innocent drivers were hurt.
