The Hercules Police Department announced the arrest of two people who were suspected in an armed robbery.

According to police, on January 22 at approximately 2:20 P.M. an officer observed a 2006 gray/red Dodge Charger which the officer recognized as the suspect vehicle from an armed robbery that has just occurred in a nearby city. Officers initiated a high risk stop on Appian Way and Mann Dr.

The driver and the passenger were detained and it was later determined that the driver was on probation for being a felon in possession of a firearm. A probation search of the vehicle was conducted and two firearms were located in the back seat behind the driver’s seat.

The first firearm was a black Ruger pistol and the second a Ghost-Switch-GNU revolver with no serial number. The Ruger pistol was later determined to be stolen out of Utah. A further search of the vehicle revealed two baggies off of suspected crack and a crack pipe.

The driver out of Bay Point and the passenger out of San Pablo were both arrested and later booked into jail.

No other information on this arrest was released.
