San Pablo Police Investigate Fatal Vehicle vs. Pedestrian Crash

San Pablo, CA – On Tuesday, February 6, 2024 at 3:07AM, San Pablo police officers responded to the area of San Pablo Avenue and Broadway Avenue regarding an injury traffic collision, involving a vehicle and a pedestrian.

Upon arrival, SPPD officers located an adult male pedestrian suffering from major injuries. Emergency medical services were summoned as officers initiated life-saving efforts, however, the pedestrian tragically succumbed to his injuries on scene. The driver of the vehicle, an adult male (San Pablo resident) and passenger, an adult female (San Pablo resident), were not injured from the collision.

Preliminary information indicates that the vehicle was traveling northbound on San Pablo Avenue when it collided with the pedestrian in the roadway, north of Broadway Avenue. The occupants of the vehicle remained on scene, and are cooperating with the investigation.

Based on the preliminary investigation, impaired driving does not appear to be a contributing factor at this time. San Pablo Avenue, between Broadway Avenue and Rumrill Boulevard, has been temporarily closed to all traffic as SPPD Traffic Investigators process the scene.

The identity of the pedestrian is being withheld, pending notifications to next of kin. This is an active investigation, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the San Pablo Police Department at 510-215-3150.
