CONCORD, CA – To provide a safe and efficient fire station facility, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District will undertake a repair project to remove and replace failing concrete in the apparatus bay and front drive ramp of Station 14, located at 521 Jones Street in Martinez.

Beginning Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the crew and apparatus from Station 14 will be temporarily housed at former Fire Station 12, located at 1240 Shell Ave., in Martinez, and continue to serve the Martinez community. While operating out of Station 12, both the fire engine and truck will maintain their radio and placard identification as Engine 14 and Truck 14.

Martinez Fire Station 14 was originally constructed in 1951. Since then, the size and weight of fire apparatuses have grown. Some minor repairs have been undertaken, but they have yet to permanently solve this problem. This major repair represents a substantial investment in our facility and will ensure its reliability and safety for years.

Construction will begin on April 4, 2024, and is anticipated to take 90 days to complete. During this time, our services will not be interrupted or reduced.
