Bill Would End Sanctuary State for Illegal Immigrant Pedophiles

AB 2641 Illegal Immigrant Pedophiles

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Today Assemblyman Bill Essayli announced his intention to amend his AB 2641 to require law enforcement to comply with federal immigration authorities in cases involving individuals convicted of sex crimes against minors.

“It is completely unacceptable that California law currently requires local law enforcement to protect illegal immigrant pedophiles from deportation under our ‘sanctuary state’ policy. I am amending AB 2641 to correct this gross injustice, remarked Assemblyman Bill Essayli.

“As the son of legal immigrants, I was raised to love our country and respect the law. Anyone here in this country illegally who dares commit a sex crime against a minor must be prosecuted and deported expeditiously–this is common sense,” added Assemblyman Bill Essayli.

This legislation is in response to yesterday’s announcement by Immigration and Customs Enforcement that San Bernardino County did not comply with their request for a detainer for an individual convicted of sex crimes with a minor and released the individual from California state custody. This is a direct result of California’s Sanctuary State laws for illegal immigrants.

The language of AB 2641 is currently being amended and will be available in the coming days as it moves through the California Legislature.

Assemblyman Bill Essayli represents the 63rd Assembly District in the California Legislature, which includes the whole cities of Norco, Menifee, Lake Elsinore, and Canyon Lake, as well as portions of the cities of Eastvale, Riverside, and Corona.

Note – its unclear how the legislator will respond to this bill given state Democrats just killed AB 2209, a bill to strip felony fentanyl dealers of sanctuary state protections. How can we crack down on criminal cartel drug dealers if Sacramento gives them tools to evade deportation
