Firefighters Battle 5-Acre Vegetation Fire in Martinez

At 9:46 am Thursday, Contra Costa County Fire Protection District was dispatched to a report of a vegetation fire along Highway 4 in Martinez.

The fire was sending smoke across the highway which impacted a CHP response and alert as the fire was in reported in the area of SR4 and Alhambra Avenue near McEwen Road. The fire was reported along the roadway with multiple spot fires and lanes would be impacted.

As of 10:27 am, Contra Costa County Fire reported the fire was at 5-acres and they had a line around the fire. They also requested CALFIRE continue.
