The California Highway Patrol (CHP) reports it responded to a solo vehicle crash on Saturday, July 15 at about 11:07 pm where one person died and another sustained major injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on southbound Byron Highway, south of Clifton Court. A Chevrolet Suburban, with two occupants, was traveling southbound on Byron Highway when it left the roadway and collided with a dirt embankment.
CHP and emergency personnel arrived on scene and the passenger was pronounced deceased. The driver sustained major injuries from the crash and was transported to the hospital. Officers arrived at the hospital to conduct a DUI investigation and the driver was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Editor’s Note – Recent Deadly Crashes

Is the freeway project still in the works? I seldom recall SJC and CCC considering a freeway project for this area and there was some sort of survey sent out by either Cal Trans or CCTA. Anyone know?
