The San Pablo Police Department released a video highlighting an arrest in a drive-by shooting that occurred on August 14 in the City of San Pablo.

According to police, the shooting occurred at 12:10 pm in the 1300 block of 23rd Street. The shooting was captured by local surveillance.

Detective Bryan Baima said a vehicle driving spotted suspects while driving which then made a U-turn before opening fire on the victims—at least two shots were heard. The intended targets ducked behind a vehicle before running from the area.

Baima says the shots struck a vehicle and a residence occupied by 5 people, however, no one was injured.

Using cameras, police were able to identify the suspect vehicle and identified the suspect as Guillermo Santizo, a 21-year-old from the City of Richmond.

“San Pablo detectives obtained a search warrant for Santizo and his residence. During the service of the search warrant Santizo was arrested and a firearm used in the shooting were located in his room, “ said Baima. “Later during an interview, Santizo admitted to being an active gang member and believed he was shooting at rival gang members.”

Santizo was then booked on attempted murder, gang enhancement and weapons violation charges.
