Antioch Stabbing

A man was stabbed in the head Thursday in the City of Antioch which prompted a more than 2-hour search for the suspect.

According to preliminary information,  the Antioch Police Department responded to a report of a male who had been stabbed in the head in the area of Slatten Ranch Road and Wicklow Way in the City of Antioch.

The incident occurred around 6:00 pm where police located a male with a stab wound coming from his head with blood all over his shirt. He was treated by Contra Costa County firefighters and AMR  and transported to an area hospital.

No update on his condition has been provided.

Antioch Police searched for the responsible suspect where they believed he was hiding inside a trailer along Slatten Ranch Rd where several big rig trucks and campers typically park overnight. With guns drawn, police targeted a trailer and made several callouts for the suspect to surrender and exit the trailer. However, it was later determined to be empty.

The Antioch Police Department has not responded to multiple email requests on the incident and it is not known if the responsible is in custody.

Antioch Police also have not responded to inquiries on multiple shootings over the past week–including an attempted vehicle theft involving an off-duty police officer which resulted in multiple shots being fired.

I am glad they put cameras in the parking lot now (JC Penney). This area is always sketch, however it has been cleaned up as there are less housed individuals in the area as most of them transported to Wilbur Ave.

Sure is a lot of stuff always at the 300 block of Lst. Last I recall that is straight across the street from the police station. Wow.

These are calls regarding incidents that have occurred elsewhere in the city, but the info that is released is the location of the reporting party. They most likely, went to the PD lobby to make a report. It happened years back and still happens all the time.

300 L Street is the address for the police department.

CAMERAS, CAMERAS, CAMERAS. Citizens have been suggesting the use of cameras for years. Public Works used them over 15 years ago to catch illegal dumping, they work. Technology has progressed since then and costs have come down and our Council is still living in the dark ages. Start thinking outside the box for a change.

Ignorance is the real affliction of many, especially when spouting off erroneous numbers that support their narrow thinking. Some people will try to use anything to make themselves feel better.
